Job Description
In this role, you have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled professionals that develop world class Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGT-S) used for minimally invasive treatments. We are looking for a professional with both procurement and engineering experience. As the Procurement Engineer IGT-S, you are a key member of the procurement team supporting the R&D team in the new product/ solution creation process. During each step of the product creation process, you will take full ownership and show your commitment as the procurement representative within the cross-functional project team. You are the single point of contact between the members of the R&D team, the procurement community and (potential) suppliers, ensuring early involvement of supplier, commodity management and other stakeholders in order to beat competition. You ensure procurement related risks (IP, cost, quality and availability) are controlled and mitigated, by taking action yourself just as bringing the relevant cross-functional colleagues into the equation. You will work on NPI and/or LCM projects to bring cost effective, high quality and reliable solutions to the market in a timely manner. You are responsible for
Representing procurement within R&D projects towards suppliers ensuring early involvement and managing the suppliers’ contribution throughout the project;
Driving & delivering concept savings in New Product Innovations and Life Cycle Management in close cooperation with Commodity Management, R&D, Operations, Marketing, Supplier Quality and Service Operations;
Executing the Request for Information/ Proposal/ Quotation (RfQ) process;
Executing and supporting the in/outsourcing process (e.g. knowledge transfer, supplier ramp- up);
Supporting the Supplier Quality Engineer in new supplier component release process, including compliance and sustainability aspects;
Applying decision making using tools such as DfX & should-cost assessments for newly proposed supplier components;
Co-determining and executing the Make or Buy decision while determining the best possible level of High Level Assembly to secure a high performing and competitive Supply Chain;
Drive the supplier allocation process.
Providing input to the Commodity Teams regarding the supply base characteristics based on business requirements & characteristics;
Ordering tools and samples related to new product development;
Supporting phase in – phase out (PIPO) planning related to new product introduction;

You are part of
the Procurement Engineering team of Image Guided Therapy Systems directly reporting to the Head of Procurement IGT-S located in a Best. The Business unit is responsible for marketing, research, development, manufacturing and sourcing of all components that are part of a fixed Image Guided Therapy System solution.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, preferably engineering with at least 5-10 years of relevant experience in a high-tech industry (preferably medical systems)
Experience in New Product Development Process;
Experience in international and multidisciplinary project teams is preferred;
A team player who is both proactive and cooperative, easily gains trust and support of peers; encourages collaboration and challenges constructively;
Ability to read and understand engineering documentation (e.g. drawings, specifications, blue prints) and SW licensing models in order to challenge value propositions on cost, risk, reliability and quality;
Excellent negotiation skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Knowledge regarding costing toolsets (Should Costing, NPV, TCO) in projects
Ability to think strategically and hands-on approach. Delivers results;
Experience in driving quality improvement programs
Prepared to travel up to 5-10% of the time
