Repair Operations Manager(Contract)


Location: Best

Duration: 12 months (with possible extension and/or Philips transfer in time)

Hours/week: 40

Budget range: €5.500 - 6.700 per month


In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make life better!

Vendor Operational management of the assigned repair partner from implementation through ongoing performance to goals. This will include but is not limited to process development, improvement, delivery, quality, material planning, and reporting. Prioritizes and drives Vendor performance improvements that will have a substantial impact on the business results and on delivering operational excellence to customers, by challenging the status quo, coaching, and embedding a mindset of continuous improvement to achieve Vendor performance excellence.

Manage day-to-day operations between Philips and the Supplier, mostly 2 main vendors. Due to the transformation period, this function is new at Best for EMEA region. The candidate should act with an enterprise mindset, having solid experience and senior leadership. In the driving seat, communication at the director level and working together with an analytics team. Depending on the business, expect the hybrid working model might not be fully executable.

You will be responsible for:

Ensuring optimal delivery performance, lead time, cycle time, scrap reduction, reliability, quality assurance, cost control, and inventory management. Maintaining high fill rates and compliance with liability agreements during product transfers. Efficiently managing master data, forecasting, production planning, and leading process implementation and development initiatives. Implementing and overseeing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and evaluating compliance with Continuous Improvement Process (CSIP) standards. Generating comprehensive operational reports and effectively managing materials and second-tier suppliers. Leading engineering change management processes, including holds, EC+, and SCR+, while ensuring effective process management.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Strong understanding and ability to optimize Vendor performance, looking at; delivery, lead time, cycle time, scrap reduction, reliability, quality assurance, cost control, and inventory management.

  • Ensure high fill rates and adherence to liability agreements during product transfers.

  • Proficiently manage master data and forecast, effectively plan production, and lead process implementation and development.

  • Implement and oversee Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and evaluate compliance with Continuous Improvement Process (CSIP) standards.

  • Generate comprehensive vendor operational reports and efficiently manage materials and second-tier suppliers.

  • Lead engineering change management, including holds, EC+, and SCR+, while maintaining effective process management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-related field, with an MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in manufacturing and repair, with a strong background in Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Proficiency in Lean Management principles, including Value Stream mapping and problem-solving techniques.

  • Demonstrated business acumen, with knowledge of SAP systems.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, with a background in automotive or aviation industries being advantageous.

  • Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in Dutch is not mandatory (candidates from European regions are encouraged).
