In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

We are looking for a test engineer with experience in testing on electrical and mechanical product components.

  • In this role, you have the opportunity to

    • Develop test methods, 

    • Test equipment design, including equipment requirements, calibration, maintenance and the test execution 

    • reporting of verification activities.

  • You will significantly contribute to the verification of innovative consumer products on safety and quality aspects.

You will be responsible for:

  • You are responsible for 

    • Designs, develops, evaluates, and conducts integration testing

    • Verification activities of (elements of) Products with focus on mechanical, electrical and (embedded) software aspects and concludes this with formal reporting.

  • Defines, implements, and maintains reliable and reproducible testing methodologies and equipment, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.

  • Develops, executes and archives objective, reproducible and maintainable test designs and test protocols/procedures (for elements, (sub)system integration, functional and non-functional tests), by using test design methods, techniques and tools.

  • Creates, reviews and optimises test protocols and test procedures to ensure complete functional and non-functional test coverage for multiple projects and/or products concurrently.

  • Awareness of statistical analysis using e.g. Minitab is plus and preferred.

  • Develops and conducts tests to verify functionality (performance, reliability, security, compliance, based on a risk-based strategy, against the design input requirements. Formally reports this.

  • Engaging in test optimization simplifies test execution and designs.

  • Reviewing, commenting and proposing on product requirements to ensure testability and design for test.

  • Establishing and maintaining verification methods and tools.

  • Test execution and test coordination at other Philips labs.

  • Analysing and post-processing of measurement data.

  • Contributing to a functional continuous improvement plan and knowledge base.

  • Coordination of test requests for the Life-Cycle Management activities, both tests executed in-house and at external facilities.

  • Understand and execute calibration and maintenance of test equipment.

  • Responsible for maintaining lab cleanliness and organising with 6S in labs.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical/electronics/mechanical engineering or equivalent professional engineering experience.

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in the field of test and verification within product development.

  • Experience related to the development and testing of medical (FDA regulated) products is preferred. (ISO 13485, 21CFR820).

  • Knowledgeable statistical sampling techniques.

  • Adherence to Good documentation practices.

  • Fluent written and verbal English skills as this is the primary language in the office.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

  • Quality mindset and comfortable with documentation; Attention to details, understands what an objective evidence is able to execute tests independently.

  • Works closely with project stakeholders.

  • Has basic knowledge on equipment calibration.

  • Experience with DFSS green belt techniques is a plus.

  • System test engineer supporting lab activities, test execution and equipment calibration.

You are a part of The Test and Verification group of the Mother & Childcare business team located in the Innovation Site Eindhoven at the centre of the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.

The T&V group consists of approximately 10 people, highly flexible, dynamic and multi-cultural.

Together with functional developers, product architects and quality assurance managers you will report functionally to your assigned project manager and hierarchically to the Group Lead Test and Verification
