Technologist Mechatronics
Participate in advanced development or product development projects applying your know-how in the field of Mechatronics Systems, thereby building up and maintaining a relevant network for the competence.
The Role:
Work in a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the concept creation and design of products and systems by modeling, simulating, and analyzing their Mechatronic properties such as dynamic behavior, control strategies, sensing/actuation, and thermal properties on both system and component levels.
Perform measurements to support design, production, and reliability-related questions.
Provide consultancy at the request of a customer on which performance issues of existing products or systems need to be analyzed and solved (performance analysis, parameter studies, and experimental troubleshooting).
Actively participate in maintaining and shaping the Mechatronics competence across our department, including our colleagues in Pune (India).
Actively participate in improving intrinsic design quality by Model Driven Engineering, coupling the model-based system engineering models with the model-based designs.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, preferably with a dynamics specialization.
Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of mechatronic systems, control theory, and actuation principles translating this into mechanical and dynamic behavior of products and systems.
Experience: Strong analytical skills with an interest and ability to validate experiments, system and concept design.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, customer-centric attitude, and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary development teams.
Software Knowledge: Experience in modeling using Matlab/Simulink (1D - 3D lumped mass modeling).
Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel globally up to 25%.
