Technologist Mechatronics (Contract)

Location: High Tech Campus, Eindhoven

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

Budget range: 4000,- t/m 5700,-

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make life better!In this role, you challenge yourself as a Technologist Mechatronics by contributing to advanced development and product development projects in the field of Mechatronic Systems. You will apply your expertise to model, simulate, and analyze mechatronic properties, ensuring high-performance design and system reliability.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team to create and design products and systems by modeling, simulating, and analyzing mechatronic properties (e.g., dynamic behavior, control strategies, sensing/actuation, and thermal properties).

  • Performing measurements to support design, production, and reliability-related questions.

  • Providing consultancy to analyze and solve performance issues in existing products and systems (performance analysis, parameter studies, and experimental troubleshooting).

  • Maintaining and shaping the Mechatronics competence across the department, including collaboration with colleagues in Pune (India).

  • Improving intrinsic design quality through Model Driven Engineering, integrating system models with design models.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, preferably with a dynamics specialization.

  • Solid understanding of mechatronic systems, control theory, and actuation principles, translating these into mechanical and dynamic product behavior.

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric attitude.

  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary development teams.

  • Strong analytical mindset with skills in experimental validation.

  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink (1D–3D lumped mass modeling).

  • Willingness to travel globally up to 25%.
