You are responsible for
o  Contributing to Mechatronic Products and Equipment Creation projects by performing Finite Element Analyses
o  Supporting the development of products and equipment using numerical methods. This will require interaction with the mechanical engineering team using your thorough knowledge of and several year’s experience with ANSYS software and MATlab/Simulink
o  As an expert within the FEM competence team, help building the FEM competence within Philips Innovation Services
o  Initiating project proposals in agreement with all relevant stakeholders
o  Participating in projects or leading projects, realizing the agreed deliverables
o  Continuously challenging the theory and develops application knowhow in the specific field of expertise
o  Judging the possibilities of reusing existing knowledge and the needs to develop new applications
You are part of
Mechatronics is a department within Philips Innovation Services, in which five competence groups focus on delivering diverse high level technological contributions to Mechatronics projects. Technological contributions within projects include system architecture and integration, concept development, design of electro-magnetic actuators, acoustics, tribology and FEM.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
o  M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics
o  3-5 years of experience with Finite Element Analysis
o  Thorough knowledge of and experience with ANSYS software
o  Ability to make fast assessments based on simplified methods on correctness of complex FEM approaches
o  Understanding of product and equipment design and Mechatronic Systems
o  Passion for technology, interest in applications
o  Willingness to develop your career to become a high level expert in Finite Element Methods
o  A customer centric attitude, interest in executing R&D projects for customers
o  You are flexible and cooperative. Has a pragmatic, creative, flexible attitude with a result driven, can-do mentality
o  Excellent communication skills, professional level of written and verbal communication in English
