Philips
Systems Engineer (Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems, Innovation Engineering)
As a Systems Engineer, you will hold a key position for the growth of Philips Innovation Engineering. You will work within a multi-disciplinary project team of highly skilled technical experts from both Philips Innovation Engineering and our customers. Your main challenge will be applying advanced technology to real-world problems, managing system complexity, and rigorously executing the various phases of the V-model while supporting the Senior Systems Engineer. You will be responsible for driving high-quality (sub-)systems designs that meet stringent user and business requirements, ensuring Design for Quality by applying DfSS methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead internal investigations into technical complaints regarding development and system integration, driving resolution and implementing preventive measures.
Execute the system architecture design and implementation, overseeing the process from design initiation through commercial launch, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Analyze system anomalies, determine steps to reproduce, identify root causes, and propose solutions, effectively communicating with cross-functional teams.
Contribute to gathering, analyzing, and reviewing system-level and sub-system requirements, coordinating system partitioning and total system integration.
Manage system requirements, lead risk management activities, and facilitate system test planning, including the identification of necessary tools.
Improve processes and work methodologies by interfacing with peers and cross-functional groups to enhance workflow efficiency.
Provide guidance and program-level management support to the systems organization throughout all aspects of product development (concept, design, testing, and continuous improvement).
Suggest design recommendations to improve system reliability and address conflicting requirements.
Familiarity with the Digital Engineering domain is expected, and knowledge of MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) and/or simulations in Matlab Simulink is a plus.
To Succeed in This Role, You Should Have
A BSc or MSc degree or equivalent in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent.
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in innovative product development, preferably including medical devices and-imaging.
Proven experience working according to the V-model in defining requirements, test specifications, execution of tests, and reporting test results.
Demonstrated experience in at least one of these domains: medical equipment, industrial automation, or high-precision mechatronics.
A clear drive for Design for Quality, ensuring thorough aftercare of projects (GreenBelt certification is a plus).
Experience with Model-Based System Engineering and other Model-Based Design tools is a plus.
