In this role as Image Management System (IMS) Backend Software Engineer you will be challenged to strengthen the software engineering teams with brain- and manpower to ensure timely releasing of high-quality products, systems and services to ensure the continued growth in an agile environment.

You will be part of a team that develops the backend for the current and next major version of the IMS. Goal is to add functionality based on requirements, improve the quality and effectiveness of the IMS. You will be working in an agile and multi-disciplinary team.

You are responsible for
Responsible for the design of software on component or module level; understand and communicate consequences of your design on the architecture.

  • Design software, on the basis of design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications;
  • Finalize the design specifications, code and test the designed modules or components, so that the software in question will be reliable, efficient, easy to maintain, and user-friendly;
  • Ensure that there is proper documentation for the developed software;
  • Maintain software, by implementing changes for solving PRs and CRs;
  • Perform work in line with the product development resp. software engineering processes that have been agreed in the department;
  • Fulfill scrum master activities;
  • Keep abreast of technical developments in own field through study of the literature and technical contacts;
  • Responsible for input in the planning process of the software subsystem;
  • Responsible for module or component testing and code reviews;
  • Help driving the adoption of the latest development tools and build pipeline technologies. You will keep our automated code quality measurement systems at the cutting edge of our craft.

As a Software Engineer you will report directly to the Group Leader Software Engineering and within projects to the responsible Project Manager.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Higher vocational level (HBO) or university education in software development;
  • More than 3 years of experience as software developer in product application development;
  • Back-end: .NET, C#, SQL Server, Windows, Trouble shooter;
  • Flexible and open attitude, good communication skills in English and preferably Dutch language;
  • Affinity and experience with working in cross functional agile teams;
  • Experience with HTTP/REST services and web development patterns;
  • You have a passion for Code Craftsmanship and take pride in all aspects of software development;
  • Dedication to unit testing, code review and other quality-oriented practices;
  • Experience with CI/CD and automatic end-to-end testing via Jenkins build pipelines.
