Senior Process Engineer Lithography (Contract)

Location: HTC 

Duration Assignment: 1 Year (with possibility of extension)

As a Senior Metrology Process Engineer, you initiate and work on process engineering & development projects for integrated thin film applications, products and processes for internal and external customers with the purpose of delivering baseline processes.

Your Challenge

  • Assist in Leading the Metrology engineering cluster.

  • Developing measurement processes for internal and external customers.

  • Interact with Project Managers, Sales, Product Engineers, other process engineers and Operators/Technicians.


Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Provide support to manufacturing and design areas in development of appropriate measurement methods, including implementation of new methods, analysing existing measurement methods, and execute training as required.

  • Lead, develop and support measurement methods in compliance with quality regulations (ISO 9001, ISO13485, ISO14001)

  • Comply with the ESH policy, rules, and regulations.

  • Cleanroom sustaining for metrology equipment.

  • Create, maintain, and where necessary, optimize tool recipes, working with Product Engineering and Operations to understand the requirements.

  • Coach engineers and technicians.

  • Support additional, non-standard metrology requests as part of product development and root cause investigations (i.e. disposition batches with out of spec (OOS) measurements or production batches where measurements have failed).

  • Perform/Assist GR&Rs and comparison studies. Generate summary reports.

  • Administration of equipment calibration and program maintenance.

  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.

  • Contributes to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste.

  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.

  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and environment always.

  • Continuously develop your technological knowledge, by regularly contacts in – and outside the MMD department, and with representatives from suppliers and knowledge institutes.

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams for purchasing new equipment; contributes by designing the process requirements/ specifications and process acceptance protocols.

  • Pro-actively communicate with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, professional network, and colleagues.

  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in the area of the exact sciences.

  • Experience in process engineering & development.

  • Proficiency reading and understanding engineering specifications.

  • Experience in working with or leading project teams in a technological area.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both technical as interpersonal.

  • Strong understanding of QC and/or Six Sigma skills such as Control, Run, and Pareto Charts, Histogram, Scatter Plot, Gantt chart, Fishbone Analysis and Process Capability.

  • Knowledge of fundamental tools (DOE, SPC, FMEA, Problem Solving, Teamwork, etc.), required in an engineering environment.

  • Has a pragmatic, creative, flexible attitude with a result driven can-do mentality.

  • Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.

  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.

  • Able to always comply with the company’s safety and quality policy.

  • Excellent communication skills, professional level of written and verbal communication in English.

Highly motivated and skilled team of (Senior) Process Engineers and Technicians, who are highly experienced in supporting customers both inside and outside Philips.

The Process and Product Engineering group (PPE) is part of the Operations team of the MEMS and Micro Devices Department (MMD)within Philips Innovation & Strategy - Engineering Solutions and it consists of about 20 experts.

We focus on the continuous improvement of the existing and new technologies, processes and equipment used for the realization of integral (flowchart) solutions and low volume production in the application fields of MEMS, flexible devices, sensors, actuators, switches, medical and semiconductor applications.
