Senior Electrical Designer (Contract)

Location: Eindhoven

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Make life better!In this role, you challenge yourself as a Senior Electrical Designer, playing a key position in the growth of Philips Innovation Engineering. You will work in a multi-disciplinary project team of highly skilled technical experts, focusing on high-precision mechatronics and medical equipment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Electrical architecture of medical products and systems.

  • Electrical systems requirements specification, design, and documentation of medical equipment and mechatronic systems.

  • Leading the electrical team within specific multidisciplinary projects.

  • Working within an environment that adheres to electrical guidelines for Healthcare equipment, such as IEC-60601 and ISO 13485.



To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

  • At least 15 years of work experience, with at least 10 years in a high-tech environment.

  • Extensive experience in medical device development, specifically in designing electrical systems for medical equipment.

  • Strong expertise in motion control and machine control systems.

  • Solid knowledge of mechatronics, integrating electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

  • Proven experience working according to the V-model, including defining requirements, creating test specifications, supervising tests, and reporting results.

  • Ability to create work breakdowns and planning for the electrical team in the project.

  • Expertise in supervising detailed design of electrical components in products and systems.

  • Proven experience as a senior electrical designer or team lead in medical equipment, industrial automation, or high-precision mechatronics.

  • Familiarity with CE, EMC, and UL regulations, particularly those related to medical devices.

  • Strong team player with the ability to lead a team of electrical engineers in multidisciplinary projects.

  • Customer-centric attitude and willingness to travel up to 25%.

  • Flexibility to work at customer locations when needed.
