Product Industrialization Engineer

Initially this will be a project for 7 months, however, thanks to our collaboration with one of the Randstad companies, we can offer you the job security of a permanent contract. 

In this role, you have the opportunity to contribute to people’s health and wellbeing by enabling our customers to realize a successful market introduction of their innovative new products.
In a multi-disciplinary team effort and building on our broad and deep technological knowledge and experience, our main goal is to develop, realize, and operate robust industrial assembly processes. Our unique proposition is that we offer our services and state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities throughout the whole innovation development cycle: technology development, concept investigations, engineering samples for verification or validation purposes, and volume manufacturing.

We do this in close collaboration with our customer’s product development teams, as we believe that a product and its manufacturing process are inseparable and need to be developed simultaneously. This helps us to live up to our commitment to our customers: “We accelerate your innovation”.
Our international customers range from small start-ups to well established industry leaders in the medical and other high-tech industries. The products we work on are typically volume produced smart micro devices (or components therefor), often requiring a challenging combination of micro-assembly technologies from the electronics, chip packaging and photonics industries. Typical examples are in- and on-body diagnostic medical devices, MEMS based sensors, and high-end PCBAs for analytical systems.

If you answered positively, you could be the new Product Industrialization Engineer we are looking for.

You are responsible for
• Developing, realizing and qualifying challenging (micro-)assembly processes for innovative new micro devices using micro mechanical, optical and electronical assembly technologies.
• Providing manufacturing input in product development process focusing on DfMAT
• Deriving the Process and Manufacturing Requirements based on the provided Product Specifications and Test Requirements.
• Ensuring the Process and Equipment Capability to meets these Requirements
• Designing product specific tooling and fixtures
• Managing Manufacturing BOM and routing Master data until transfer to Operations
• Establishing Inspection and Test Criteria for outsourced Philips owned components and assemblies
• Applying lean manufacturing principles
• Ensuring adherence to the applicable QMS processes for product introductions, qualifications and release.
• Employs equipment, practices, and procedures which promote a healthy, safe, and secure work environment
• Initiating and overseeing Process Technology development activities supporting our customer Product Technology roadmap.
• Executing the processes and standards with embedded quality into the way of working including adherence to compliance with safety, Cost regulatory- and environmental requirements as well as local laws , Philips General Business principles and other policies

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant technical domain, preferably Mechanical Engineering
• A broad technological interest and knowledge (e.g. Micro Electronics and Optics).
• Having worked in a technical role in development projects using relevant methodologies and (business) processes, like LDFSS.
• A proven track record (>5 yrs.) in setting-up, realizing and qualifying assembly processes.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Team player, good communicator between the different departments. Capable of balancing the needs for the different stakeholders and defending your own.
• Good understanding of automotive and/or medical regulatory requirements (PPAP/PSW) is a preference
• Good business acumen, capable of understanding customer-specific business needs and creative in finding cost effective solutions.
• Open to travel on an occasionally basis.
