Job Overview

  • Become part of a dynamic R&D team focused on developing and maintaining smart therapy catheters and advanced medical device solutions that address critical clinical needs and positively impact patients by helping save lives and limbs. 

  • This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment within Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices, contributing to innovative laser and catheter-based medical technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and mechanical design principles.

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to develop new product designs and improve existing products based on defined requirements and constraints.

  • Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including:

  • Product requirements

  • CAD models and drawings

  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)

  • Test protocols and reports

  • Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

  • Assembly instructions

  • Develop prototypes for evaluation, testing, and development activities, including limited assembly and machining.

  • Assist in prototype evaluation within clinical scenarios as needed.

  • Work closely with vendors on component design and fabrication activities.

  • Generate invention disclosures for innovative product concepts.

  • Develop and execute engineering studies, analyze data, and provide technical recommendations.

  • Utilize CAD tools to create solid models and finished engineering drawings.

  • Support Test Method Validation activities and remediation efforts related to CAPA and design improvements.


Required Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and product development processes.

  • CAD proficiency in creating solid models and engineering drawings.

  • SolidWorks experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated drive for results and passion for innovation.

  • Ability to contribute positively to an inclusive and collaborative team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as FDA-regulated industries.

  • Internship or prior experience with medical devices.

  • Familiarity with test method validation and remediation activities.

  • Experience supporting CAPA-related engineering activities.
