Are you passionate about high-end electrical design in complex mechatronic systems? Do you enjoy working on meaningful innovations in the medical domain? Join Philips Innovation Engineering as an Electrical Designer, where you’ll be at the forefront of designing cutting-edge solutions that matter.

Your Role

As an Electrical Designer, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the development of equipment in the mechatronics and medical domains. Your focus will be on designing, testing, and integrating electrical subsystems—ranging from e-cabinet designs to complex cabling and motion control solutions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the electrical architecture of complex mechatronic modules and subassemblies

  • Design and document e-cabinets, electrical interfaces, cabling, connectors, and field boxes

  • Ensure compliance with medical standards such as IEC 60601 and ISO 13485

  • Create test specifications and execute tests to verify electrical designs

  • Support motion control implementations (e.g. servo technology) in equipment design

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including customers

  • Work in line with CE, EMC, and UL regulations for healthcare and industrial systems

You Are Part Of

The Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems department within Philips Innovation Engineering, a hub of technical experts supporting innovation projects across Philips and beyond. This group focuses on high-end mechatronic solutions, where electrical and software control play a critical role in product development. Expect a dynamic, varied environment where you’ll work with dedicated professionals on projects that bring real-world impact.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s also welcome)

  • 2–5 years of experience, preferably in a high-tech or mechatronics environment

  • Strong team player with a customer-focused mindset

  • Practical experience with e-cabinet and electrical interface design

  • Familiarity with motion control systems and industrial automation components

  • Working knowledge of medical design regulations (IEC 60601, ISO 13485)

  • Proficient in EPLAN for electrical schematics and layout

  • Experience with CE, EMC, and UL requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% and work on-site at customer locations when needed

  • Preferably experienced with Microsoft Visio and Philips technical documentation systems
