You are responsible for being the Database Consultant for the long-term strategic partnerships (LSP) and customized solutions of Philips. In this role, you have the opportunity toBe yourself and develop yourself. And use your passion to drive the development of our Database E2E and initiate new improvements. Meaning your expertise will be put in practice when it comes to both database design and development and process improvements, including requirements definition, prototyping, and proof of concept, design, development, testing, debugging and maintenance. You feel energized by combining conceptual thinking as well as execution. You will be pioneering with newest techniques and as such be engaging in internal dialogues with your fellow modelers and BPEs. As part of the deployment team you show initiative and share your knowledge with new users.You will get the freedom to search for and develop new ideas that are beneficial to us and your own development. Whilst making sure that we deliver on time on our promises.


You are responsible for
Writing great/structured code that is testable Optimizing the speed of our setup. For example, by moving our calculations to a microservice architecture or to our Azure database. Extending our database by connecting and improving the import of the data to Azure Database from multiple sources (APIs, flat files, etc), while safeguarding data quality and adherence to financial guidelines. Development of UIs that are guiding our users through the complex solutions.


You are a part of
the Harmonized Business case team which is part of Finance. The team collaborates with the markets and engages with multiple stakeholders at Global and Business level. You directly report to the BPO HBC, located in Eindhoven. Besides you the central team consists of BPEs, modelling experts, testers and business analysts. The team values transparency and honesty.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience. 

  • A bachelors or masters degree. 
  • Strong understanding data modeling (i.e., conceptual, logical, and physical model design)
  • Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps (Version Control, Repos, Pipelines and User Stories)
  • Solid knowledge of: Azure services, such as (durable) Functions, Azure SQL Database, being able to build and maintain complex queries, Service Bus, App Services. 
  • Understanding basic finance terms. Mature communication skills, full business proficiency in English. 
  • Provide on-call support after hours as an when needed. Advanced excel user, including VBA programming skills. Agile/scrum experience.
