Business setting and objective
The department Philips Personal Health, Commercial Supply Chain, Warehouse & Distribution Europe & APMEA aims to drive operational excellence in their operations and improve business processes around their customers and their markets. As a Business Intelligence analyst and developer you are both an analyst as well as an IT developer and architect, because the tool framework is custom-made and you are responsible for maintenance, further development and overall set-up of the framework. You are situated at the foundation of the department, supporting the operations and the expert teams (and their customers). The BI officer facilitates business process optimization through consulting with the user on required IT improvements and by further developing the tool framework. The aim of the business intelligence officer is to create business insights and efficiency improvements based on data, leading to improved W&D results now and in the future. This is done by creating accurate, actual, high-value, value for effort and actionable insights and improvements for W&D. In this role the BI officer will focus on;

Key areas of responsibility
IT architecture and development responsibilities
•  Directly involved in and/or responsible for the process architecture
•  Next to architecture often also responsible for the development of the software (Visual Basic.Net and Dev Express)
•  Responsible for the documentation, testing and maintenance of the assigned applications.
•  Own specific tools and programs (e.g. complaints tools, cockpits) and ensure they run stable and are continuously improved
•  Be a specialist on these tools for different projects and initiatives
•  To be the technical knowledge holder of W&D businesses reporting and tools
•  Knowledge of the (newest) IT technology and ability to link this technology to business needs.
•  Expert on a certain application area or specific business process and related IT solutions.

Analyst responsibilities
•  Translates business requirements into IT solutions (digital cockpits, reports, etc), in accordance with the business and IT strategy and the BI team strategy
•  Analyzes business processes and problems in operations and pro-actively formulates proposals for IT solutions and accompanying frames and work methods, and supports realization, in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes.
•  Involvement in central business transformation activities like PIL/ Bluehart.
•  Active participation in continuous improvement activities & projects, to support with analyses, and reporting requirements
•  Understand the business impact of different solutions and can assess and communicate the tradeoffs between business needs, technology requirements, costs and risk
•  Counsels (senior) management and obtains buy-in for initiatives
•  Ensure that all standard regular reports and other BI solutions are made, preferably in an automated manner
•  Support Finance & Accounting team with month end closure activities


Responsibilities heading to the future:
•  To further develop BI and its output in line with the agreed BI vision, and to carry out this vision within W&D, to our customers and in the rest of the organization. Furthermore to ensure the vision stays up to date and is developed further if necessary.
•  Ensure a focus on scalability and maintainability of the solutions

Professional & functional competencies

o  Basic project management skills, functions as project leader of small teams
o  Good planning skills for planning of own work, with a short (coming few weeks) and long term (months to one year) horizon
o  The ability to work on many different topics at the same time and being able to prioritise between the many different actions and projects
o  Knowledge of / experience with LEAN and SCRUM is an advantage (not a must)
o  Understanding of the Supply Chain, especially the Warehouse and Distribution related processes is an advantage, not a must.
