Venture Builder | Grooming & Beauty (Freelance)
In this role, you have the opportunity to lead your own venture team into new need spaces and define solutions building on our own innovations in hair, face and body care as well as building strategic partnerships. This role is a maternity leave coverage.
You are responsible for
- Exploring business opportunities in new and existing value spaces in the grooming & beauty domain, where you'll define the consumer insights, offering and business potential for Philips;
- Leading your venture with a cross-functional team by setting out a lean validation plan, following the VPC, NBX and lean start-up methodologies;
- The proposition and business case. You'll build-up evidence to de-risk both along the way, justifying further exploration and funding;
- Connecting and building a relationship with potential partners, both internal and external, with the goal to co-create solutions for our customers;
- Reporting out to the venture portfolio board, consisting of the G&B Business Leader, G&B Innovation Leader and Ventures and Solutions management team;
- Maintaining a steady learning velocity through small iterative cycles and prioritization of the riskiest assumptions.

The Grooming & Beauty Ventures and Solutions team, a dynamic and cross functional team of T-shaped entrepreneurs with a broad range of skills sets and end-to-end responsibility. With us, you will be exploring new opportunities from our venture innovation funnel by systematically defining the business opportunity, problem-solution fit, product-market fit and scaling potential. You'll lead your venture focusing on the riskiest hypotheses between us and success. When successful, ventures will grow into in market pilots.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience.
- Master-degree in business management or innovation management, or bachelor with strong proven track-record; Minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant role (e.g. marketing role with experience in leading NBX or VPC projects);
- A consumer first mindset combined and working understanding of business model innovation.
- Ability to autonomously define development logic, utilizing tools from VPC and Lean Start-up.
- Capable to think strategic and act pragmatic and you bring a track record to show it;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in English is a must.
