Test Engineer – Scanners, Digital and Computational Pathology (DCP) (Contract)

Location: Best, Netherlands

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

Month Salary: 3.800,- EUR t/m 5750,- EUR

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make life better!In this role, you challenge yourself as a Test Engineer by ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our advanced pathology scanners. You will lead and coordinate critical verification activities, ensuring that Philips' Digital and Computational Pathology (DCP) solutions meet rigorous quality standards and perform seamlessly in clinical settings.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating verification efforts for pathology scanners to ensure robust system coverage and compliance with quality standards.

  • Prioritizing tasks and managing workload within the scanner verification team.

  • Developing and executing comprehensive verification strategies and plans specific to the pathology scanner product line.

  • Designing and running manual and automated tests for hardware and software components.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including clinical specialists, regulatory, and quality engineering, to ensure scanners meet both design and compliance standards.

  • Participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.

  • Investigating and resolving issues found during verification in collaboration with software and systems engineering teams.

  • Ensuring verification activities are aligned with Philips’ quality management systems and meet FDA and CE regulatory requirements for digital pathology solutions.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Test Engineer, preferably in the medical device industry.

  • Proven experience in a verification role, including planning and coordination.

  • Understanding of imaging technologies, hardware-software integration, and algorithm validation for medical applications.

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including FDA and CE requirements specific to digital pathology.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate and align with internal stakeholders across disciplines.
