Software Test Engineer (Contract)


Location: Best, Netherlands

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

Budget range: €3900,- t/m €5500,- per month

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make life better!In this role, you challenge yourself as a Software Test Engineer by ensuring our Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) Clinical Imaging Application delivers safe, high-performance results that make clinical workflows more effective and patient outcomes significantly better.

You will be responsible for:
  • Collaborating with Product Management and the Product Owner to define software functionality through customer journey maps and user stories.

  • Ensuring software requirements are complete and testable in close cooperation with the development team.

  • Creating and documenting test plans, scenarios, and test cases for various testing types: functional, performance, safety, reliability, translations, etc.

  • Maintaining 100% test coverage by mapping software test cases to requirements.

  • Developing and reviewing test cases in parallel with software development during Sprints and Product Increments.

  • Managing test execution for interim releases and verifying new functionality.

  • Participating in Agile/Scrum/SAFe ceremonies as part of a high-performing, cross-functional team.

  • Contributing to risk management activities such as FMEA to define and test risk control measures.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

Technical Competences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 4+ years’ experience in software testing, verification, or quality engineering.

  • Proficient in tools such as Jama, Jira, Quality Center, Test Complete.

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Qt Squish, PyTest, WinAppDriver.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards: IEC 62304, IEC 82304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971.


Behavioral & Management Skills:

  • Experienced in Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within global development environments.

  • Able to work onsite in Best at least 3 days a week.
