Sr. Embedded Engineer – Connectivity
At Philips Electronic Systems & IoT, We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Advanced Development team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between "first-of-a-kind" prototypes and production-ready connectivity solutions, supporting the continuous demand for innovation from our global customers.

Your Role:
As a Senior Engineer, you will work globally with teams in Eindhoven, Bangalore, and the USA. Your mission includes:
Conducting Proof of Concepts (PoC), evaluating new chipsets, and providing initial hardware development support.
Designing and implementing embedded C++ software for our connectivity platforms.
Participating in requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and release.
Ensuring compliance with quality norms, participating in design/code reviews, and contributing to FMEAs.
Creating automated unit and integration tests within established frameworks.
Maintaining design decision logs and ensuring proper documentation for all developed software and PoC work.
Qualification and technical skills required to perform this role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with minimum of 5+ years in embedded software development.
Comfortable with board bring-up, hardware debugging (signal analyzers, scopes), and reading datasheets.
Low-Level Expertise, Deep understanding of SPI, I2C, UART, register sets, memory layout, and interrupt handling.
Proficient in programming against vendor SDKs/HAL layers and developing custom HAL layers.
Modern C++, Strong Object-Oriented Design (OOD) skills and strict adherence to SOLID principles.
Tools & Ecosystem
Microcontrollers: Experience with TI CC2340R5, STM32, or ESP32.
Connectivity: BLE, Wi-Fi, and Cellular product development.
Build & CI/CD: Proficient in CMake, Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions, Docker, and scripting.
Quality Tools: Experience with software quality/analysis tools, profilers, and style checkers.
Environment: Knowledge of various RTOS solutions and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Regulated Industry: Familiarity with Medical regulatory standards (ISO13485, IEC62304).
