Role: Software Test Engineer

Location: Best, Netherlands

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make life better!In this role, you challenge yourself as a Software Test Engineer by testing new and maintenance releases of software for the Philips Interventional Hemodynamic System, a medical device used in Interventional Cardiac Procedures. You will design and execute the optimal test approach for software using both manual and automated tests.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating and executing software (interface) tests, both automated and manual, within an agile/scrum development team throughout the entire development cycle.

  • Defining the appropriate test strategy with the lead test engineer and other colleagues to ensure a high-quality product.

  • Creating required documentation to support test execution and software or hardware component releases.

  • Reviewing requirements, user stories, and feature descriptions for accuracy and testability.

  • Collaborating with other test engineers as part of the software development team and participating in various Scrum activities.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Proven knowledge of ISEB/ISTQB Foundation level; Advanced level preferred.

  • Experience in software testing within regulated industries such as medical, aerospace, defense, or automotive. Test automation experience is preferred.

  • Familiarity with the high documentation workload associated with releasing regulated products.

  • Experience within an Agile/SCRUM environment and the ability to contribute to team processes.

  • Strong quality drive, ownership, and communication skills, with proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus).
