Role: Software Testing Engineer

Contract: via Randstad company

Duration: 1 year with high possibility of extension

You are a part of:

Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Systems, Philips Healthcare, Best. IGT develops and manufactures best-in-class medical products such as the Azurion platform. This role is in the Imaging Chain Agile Release Train. The imaging Chain Cluster is responsible for the real-time image acquisition, processing, rendering, and video distribution for X-ray systems in the area of cardiac or vascular medical diagnosis and (minimally invasive) interventions.

Your role:

In this role, you have the opportunity to strengthen our team with your software test (and automation) expertise and make a substantial contribution to the innovation and quality of cutting-edge medical systems. Be challenged to show an abstract understanding of (test) concepts, but at the same time have an opportunity to work hands-on with software and systems.

You are responsible for:

  • Performs software testing (automated or manual) within the systems/agile/scrum team throughout the whole development cycle ensuring built-in quality ensuring the right usage for the customer

  • Review (functional and non-functional) requirements/stories/features for accuracy and testability.

  • Review design changes for quality impact

  • Contribution to test design and test case creation and execution

  • Defining and driving software test strategies and initiatives at the feature and system level

  • Independently managing own activities such as testing, planning, and demos.

  • Supporting the team with test expertise

  • Proactive interaction within the team, but also outside the team with system test engineers, system designers, etc.


To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and experience

  • Over 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry & regulatory aspects (FDA 820.x, ISO13485, etc.)is highly preferred. However, we can consider experience from regulated industries like aviation, automobiles, etc.

  • Experience in Test Design and Test Case creation and execution

  • Strong knowledge of all phases of the software development and test life cycle.

  • Experience in working with tools like GIT ADS, and ClearQuest.

  • Exposure to test automation and BDD (using SpecFlow)

  • Experience in scripting languages, e.g. Power Shell, Python, C#.Net. etc.

  • Able to own and drive testing for the assigned component or feature, including test automation.

  • Working experience in Agile/SAFe development methodologies is preferred.

  • Knowledge of DICOM is an added advantage

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
