Role: Software Design Engineer

Philips IGT Systems R&D is looking for a strong and experienced C++ software developer with a background in 3D computer graphics and signal processing. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing our portfolio of state-of-the-art 3-dimensional imaging applications to support interventional cardiac and vascular medical procedures (e.g., balloon angioplasty and stent placements) on the Philips Azurion image-guided therapy system.
What the IGT department does:
At Philips IGT Systems R&D we are working on industry leading solutions helping clinicians on deciding, guiding, treating and confirming the right therapy for each patient in real-time during image-guided therapies (IGT).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new clinical products and supporting platforms using the latest software technologies.
De-risk technical designs in the early stages and demonstrate this with early prototypes (Advanced Development).
Finalize clinical applications and bring them to market (PDLM - Product Development Lifecycle Management).
Keep abreast of technical knowledge by studying and implementing state-of-the-art programming techniques, development tools, methods, and processes.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts of the team, software, and its way of working.
What you will be doing:
The software team's main goal is to de-risk technical designs in an early stage and demonstrate this with early prototypes (Advanced Development) as well as finalizing these clinical applications and bringing them to the market (PDLM Product Development Life-cyle Management). You also actively participate in our Agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement efforts of the team, software and its way of working.
About the Team:
You will become part of an international, cross-functional R&D team within the Image Guided Therapy Systems business unit. Your local team is based in Best (Eindhoven North), The Netherlands, and you will collaborate with teams globally, making it a multidisciplinary international endeavor. Flexibility is key.
Qualifications:
MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Multiple years of relevant work experience with modern C++ versions (preferably mid to senior level).
Proven experience in 3D rendering, computational geometry, and writing efficient code.
Expertise in high-performance software design and development, design patterns, SOLID principles, TDD, and Clean Architecture.
Self-starter, results-driven, accurate, and a team player striving for continuous improvement.
