Senior Process Engineer Lithography (Contract)

Location: HTC 

Duration Assignment: 1 Year (with possibility of extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

In this role, you have the opportunity to initiate and work on process engineering & development projects in the area of Lithography for integrated thin film applications, products and processes for internal and external customers.

Your Challenge

  • Lead the development of Lithography processes for various customer applications while assessing process manufacturability.

  • Being the expert on the lithography processes and technologies (eg.: steppers).

  • Responsible for several machines in the Lithography cluster keeping up manufacturability requirements and control plans.

  • Train and support Operators/Technicians in Litho process techniques and troubleshooting.

  • Continuously analyse data and develop process improvements to meet the changing needs of customers and applications.

  • Work alongside Project Managers, Sales, Product Engineers, and other process engineers to ensure the successful implementation of Lithography processes.


Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Lithography equipment in the cleanroom, meaning maintaining the processes at a good and stable level.

  • SPC and tools qualification after maintenance.

  • Responsible for the application and development of (new) Lithography processes, mostly within the context of a project and looking towards industrialization.

  • Writing and maintaining documentation supporting process engineering and Operating Procedures transfer to Operations.

  • Participate in complex RCAs with Development and Maintenance Engineering.

  • Participate in projects realizing the agreed deliverables, contributing, or making relevant technological choices inside the field of Lithography.

  • Continually develop your technological knowledge and expertise within your field by regular contacts in and outside the organization.

  • Judge the possibilities of reusing existing knowledge and the needs for new developments within the Lithography Cluster.

  • See opportunities for improvements and initiate activities, within his own technological expertise/competency.

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams for purchasing new equipment, contributing by designing the process requirements/ specifications and process acceptance protocols.

  • Coaching technicians & operators.

  • Proactively communicate with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, professional network, and colleagues.

  • Comply with the ESH policy, rules, and regulations.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in the area of the exact sciences (eg. Chemical/Physics/Materials Engineering).

  • Experience in process engineering & industrialization (preferably in MEMs processing).

  • Experience in working with or leading project teams in the technological area.

  • In-depth knowledge of Lithography technology (preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both technical and interpersonal.

  • Knowledge of fundamental tools (DOE, SPC, Problem Solving, Teamwork, etc.), required in an engineering environment → Green belt in DMAIC or DFSS preferred.

  • Pragmatic, creative, flexible attitude with a result driven can-do mentality.

  • Excellent communication skills, professional level of written and verbal communication in English

The Process and Product Engineering group (PPE) is part of the Operations team of the MEMS and Micro Devices Department (MMD)within Philips Innovation & Strategy - Engineering Solutions and it consists of about 20 experts.

We focus on the continuous improvement of the existing and new technologies, processes and equipment used for the realization of integral (flowchart) solutions and low volume production in the application fields of MEMS, flexible devices, sensors, actuators, switches, medical and semiconductor applications.
