In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Embark on a dynamic journey within our IGT (Image Guided Therapy) business unit as a Mechanical Designer. You'll immerse yourself in the intricate world of mechatronic and mechanical systems, shaping the future of healthcare technology. You will be responsible for:
Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for IGT fixed systems, adhering to relevant medical device standards and regulations.
Engaging in all phases of new product development, from concept to manufacturing introduction and service support.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as operations and procurement.
Conducting technical analysis, simulations (FEA), testing, and documentation of designs.
Ensuring proper documentation for designs including design calculations, FMEA, and verification reporting.
Contributing to continuous product and process improvement.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
MSc (or BSc with high experience level) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years experience in an R&D environment, preferably in a regulated industry such as Medical, Automotive, or Aerospace/Defense.
Strong documentation and design skills.
Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Creo (Pro/ENGINEER).
Knowledgeable of medical and safety standards such as IEC60601, DFMEA, CtQs, and DfMAT.
Experience with Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (cPLM).
Driven by quality, ambitious, a team player, and excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to think conceptually and hands-on.
Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEM e.g. Ansys) is a plus.
Experience in dynamics and drive train design is a plus.
Experience with Design for Six Sigma is a plus.

The Mechatronics Development Cluster within the R&D organization of the Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Systems Business Unit at Philips Healthcare. This cluster is responsible for developing accurate positioning systems for patients and imaging equipment, encompassing mechanics, electronics, and software. You'll collaborate closely with various disciplines within and outside the organization to achieve optimal results.
