Your Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Factory Best, you are responsible for supporting, improving, and maintaining production processes across various departments. Your focus is on operational excellence, business continuity, and driving quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimize production disturbances and maximize yield through collaboration with team leads, troubleshooters, and development teams.

  • Ensure business continuity by replacing critical equipment and processes.

  • Develop and maintain work instructions, tooling, and devices; train employees and implement process improvements.

  • Act as a subject-matter expert during internal and external audits.

  • Support and execute process validation activities.

  • Drive structural problem-solving using methods such as Problem Reports (PRs) and 8D methodology.

  • Manage the introduction of product changes via Life Cycle Management (LCM) and Modify Launched Design (MLD).


Additional Activities

  • Support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

  • Lead escalations related to production issues or customer complaints, involving development and other stakeholders when necessary.

  • Support New Product Introductions (NPI).

  • Conduct root cause analysis for Defect On Arrival (DEFOA) and Missing On Arrival (MOA) cases; implement structural solutions.

  • Collaborate with Product Industrialization Engineers to optimize workflows post-volume release.

  • Analyze product and process performance data using Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

  • Contribute to NPI project planning and coordinate trial/prototype production preparations.

  • Define and lead improvement projects (Green Belt level) focused on efficiency, product quality, and test performance.


You Will Be Part Of

You’ll join the Manufacturing Engineering team at Factory Best, one of the largest medical manufacturing sites within Philips Health Systems. The team is responsible for process excellence across multiple areas, including:

  • Image Guided Therapy (IGT)

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)

  • Service, Parts & Repair (SP&R)

  • Imaging Components (IC)

  • Refurbishment Systems (RS)

  • Digital X-Ray (DXR)

  • Parts Recovery (PR)

You will collaborate closely with operations, quality, and development teams.


To Succeed in This Role, You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • A hands-on mentality, with strong documentation skills and attention to detail.

  • Proactive, independent work style with strong ownership and stakeholder management skills.

  • A result- and quality-driven mindset.

  • Preferably DMAIC Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

  • Experience with SAP (MES), Windchill, and basic OT/IT systems.

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering role in a high-tech environment.

  • Analytical skills with the ability to summarize and present findings clearly.

  • Familiarity with quality systems and standards, especially in the medical industry (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA, FMEA, 8D, SPC, etc.).

  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, comfortable engaging with all levels—from operators to management.
