Job Summary

The Incoming Inspection Technician is responsible for performing inspection and verification of incoming materials, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. This role supports inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform measurement and inspection of parts, fixtures, tooling, and assemblies using appropriate tools and methods in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.

  • Execute quality inspection activities in SAP to ensure accurate and timely inventory control.

  • Verify that all inspection and test equipment is within calibration and meets preventive maintenance requirements prior to use.

  • Identify and address deviations from specifications, taking appropriate action when nonconformances are detected.

  • Accurately document inspection data, test results, and observations in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Organize, analyze, and summarize inspection/test results; prepare clear and concise reports.

  • Review vendor certificates and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company specifications.

  • Initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) for defective materials and support investigation, root cause analysis, and disposition activities.

  • Participate in internal audits, ISO audits, and other regulatory or customer audits as required.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to inspection procedures, specifications, and quality processes.

  • Assist in qualification and validation activities, including implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Communicate material and product quality issues to relevant stakeholders and management.

  • Maintain working knowledge of inspection instruments and support troubleshooting of routine and non-routine testing issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with quality standards and acceptance criteria.

  • Foster a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a regulated industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, or medical devices).

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

  • Knowledge of metrology, materials, calibration processes, auditing, and inspection techniques.

  • Understanding of quality standards and systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, GMP, and GDP.

  • Understanding of traceability concepts related to products, materials, and calibration.

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in ISO 13485-compliant environments (medical devices).

  • Hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

  • Advanced knowledge of inspection methodologies and quality systems.
