Freelance Service Technical Writer & Illustrator Ambient Experience

Your challenge

Philips has a prominent global position within the market and as Technical Writer & Illustrator you will be part of this team and support the development of new service concepts by creation and updating of the documentation and other media for service engineers in the field. We often work in a multidisciplinary environment whereby Customer Services, Marketing and Development play important roles.

Your responsibilities

You will work in a team with Customer Services and Development and contribute to our Service Innovation through:

Ensuring that the required end-user documentation is written and delivered according to the project deadlines.

Adapt drawings to be compatible with our templated document design from .stp to DWG as well as in PDF format and make small changes & additions.

Collect all necessary information for documentation activities and improvements from Market and BU, to transform this input into service documentation.

Coach Customer Services innovation and Development experts to ensure high quality content creation.

Proactively organize review of the written documents or media, handle comments and obtain approval.

Submit documents for translation, localization and final product delivery.

Drive and maintain the overall documentation delivery and correction project plan.

Drive for documentation quality improvements by listening to the customer and suggesting changes.

You will be part of an innovative team contributing directly to the growth of our service business. Our team is working closely together with the different Field Service, Marketing and R&D teams worldwide. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that our customers can deliver excellent care to their patients at any time.

We are looking for

Bachelor´s degree in engineering or English language and affinity with technical topics.

Minimum 5 years of experience is preferred.

Good communication skills and ability to work across different functional teams and virtual organizations at global level.

Excellent communication skills and fluent in English.

Preferred: Experience with CAD drawing tools.

Experience in a technical development environment is a preference.

Experience in Philips environment is also a preference.

Tools in use: Windchill, ARBOR text, PDF and other conversions, these are the most used.
