The Commercial & Growth Associate
You will support the Commercial & Growth Leader to turn validated propositions into scalable, profitable businesses — while serving as the privileged counterpart to the innovation ecosystem to ensure product development, launch, and lifecycle management are aligned with business objectives. This role combines entrepreneurial drive, market development expertise, and product-launch discipline to build distribution, expand channels, deliver revenue, and ensure the right product offer reaches consumers in time, cost, and quality.
The role requires dual expertise in commercial scaling and innovation leadership — being equally fluent in market/channel development and in product development trade-offs. Success depends on the ability to build strategic customer relationships, influence product decisions, adopt new AI and digital tools, and secure organizational endorsement for scaling new ventures.
Key Responsibilities
1: Product Development, Launch & Lifecycle: Act as the business counterpart to the innovation ecosystem (R&D, Operations, Marketing) to ensure product decisions meet consumer needs and business objectives. Drive alignment on time, cost, and quality targets for product launches, as well as lifecycle management of existing offers.
2: Own commercial delivery: Translate consumer validation and pilot learnings into scalable commercial, product, and proposition models. Adapt offerings and channels to maximize market fit, ensuring each proposition is commercially viable and consumer-relevant.
3: Performance & Revenue Growth: Own commercial KPIs (sell-in, sell-out, distribution, share of shelf, conversion), monitor performance, and adapt strategies to deliver sustainable revenue and ROI.
4:Cross-Functional & Ecosystem Collaboration: Work closely with Operations & Innovation, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regions to align product pipeline, launch readiness, and scaling capacity. Build external partnerships with suppliers, customers, and the broader innovation ecosystem. Interact regularly with the Ventures Investment Board and key customers to ensure alignment and endorsement.
5: Digital & AI Adoption: Champion the adoption of AI and advanced digital tools to optimize forecasting, pricing, consumer targeting, e-commerce performance, and channel execution.
Skills & Qualifications
1: Strategic Growth Leadership: Proven ability to set and execute commercial strategies that drive profitable growth across channels and geographies.
2: Dual Commercial & Innovation Expertise: Track record of operating at the interface of business and product development — ensuring time, cost, and quality trade-offs are made in line with business and consumer objectives.
3: Channel & Market Development: Strong experience in launching and scaling propositions across D2C, e-commerce, and retail, with proven success in securing distribution partnerships.
4: Consumer & Market Fluency: Ability to translate consumer validation and pilot insights into scalable commercial and product models; experience adapting for fast-paced Asia supply and innovation ecosystems.
5: Technology, AI & Data-Driven Growth: Proven ability to embrace new technologies — including AI, data-driven marketing, predictive analytics, and digital commerce platforms — to accelerate growth and efficiency.
6: Partnership & Negotiation Skills: Skilled in influencing cross-functional teams and negotiating with retailers, e-commerce players, and suppliers to align on commercial and product outcomes.
7: Leadership & Communication: Inspiring people leader who can coach teams, manage partners, and influence senior stakeholders with clear, impactful storytelling to secure alignment and resources.
8: Education & Experience: 15+ years in commercial, sales, or business development roles in consumer goods or beauty-tech, combined with product launch or category management experience. Master’s degree in Business/Marketing or related field preferred.
9: Philips Experience : Philips Experience in Personal Health linked to product development logic, commercialization and ways of working is a strong plus.
