Export Control Officer (Contract)

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension and/or Philips transfer in time)

Hours/week: 40

Budget range: €3.500 - 4.900 per month

Global Trade compliance is responsible for assuring compliance in all connected business areas on Global level. As Export Control Officer, you are subject matter expert on Export Control and the spill between the different entities and stakeholders on global level. You maintain relations with the (business & manufacturing & markets) departments and with the trade compliancy community within Philips.

You will be responsible for:

• Subject matter expert for Export control

• Define embargo situations, apply and manage licenses.

• Maintain contacts with all parties involved with the License application process

• Manage sanctioned party list by screening of business partners and customs documents. Timely release of documents that have a false positive hit.

• Proficient in export control knowledge and skillful in SAP tool (incl. GTS)

• Knows how to use PROTECT

• Manage daily activities related to Export Control, working on full scope of transactional data on SPL, EMB and LIC requirements.

• Participate in corporate initiatives related to Export Control compliance as needed.

• Set up and Implement local internal control procedures on export control and ensure compliance based on Export Control Laws and Regulations

• Releasing blocked orders applying the Export Control Rules and Regulations or blocking orders/customers for Export Control reasons

• Working independently and providing consultative advice within specific functional areas. E.g. decide/advice on Export Control issues, which are not 100% clear in close cooperation with the Sector ECO and Philips Corporate Export Control

• Reducing business risks to a minimum through fulfillment of the yearly Self-Assessment questionnaire (including determination of Involvement into Export Controls Statement) that is to be submitted by the Unit Manager.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• HBO or WO education level

• Experience/ training in export control

• Certified and experienced in project management (e.g. Prince 2, Six Sigma)

• Networker who is able to work with different stakeholders inside Philips

• Pro-active and hands-on mind set

• Flexible and adaptable, while persistence to ensure compliance

• Fluent in Dutch and English

The Export Control Team is part of GTC (Global Trade Compliance), which is responsible for all trade compliance subjects worldwide. You are part of a team of x. persons, consisting of Global export Lead and subject matter experts to ensure full compliance in Export control related domains.
