Your challenge
As Analytical Chemist you support our activities with your hands-on physical/chemical laboratory experience in the Materials Physical/Chemical Analysis area. We solve challenges from our internal customers and use our analytical techniques as a tool to provide solutions.
Your responsibilities
In your job as Analytical Chemist you will support the solutions we provide to our customers to understand complex problems in the field of polymer materials, processing, finishing and applied chemistry. You master analytical techniques yourself and you are hands-on and can work, after a proper introduction, indepently. Activities / capabilities / attitude: Familiar with several material characterization and chemical analytical techniques, for example Tensile testing, Impact, Fatique, GC-MS, FT-IR, Thermal analysis (DSC, TGA and TMA), Microscopy, Reology and Contact angle.
GC-MS experience is a must.

Your team
The Philips Technical Expert Group (TEG) in Drachten, The Netherlands, is a group of highly skilled experts in several competences that are key for the Personal Health Business groups as well as for Medical Businesses. The experts closely cooperate in a network with product developers, industrial designers, consumer marketing managers, external partners and with innovative suppliers. TEG supports the different Philips product categories worldwide in scouting and developing new technologies that enable new product functions and is organized around competences, with two expert groups. One of these expert groups is the group Chemistry & Polymers. The competences in the group are Applied Chemistry, Material/Chemical Analysis and Materials, Molding & Finishing Technologies. The group consists of about 15 colleagues on PhD/MSc/BSc level.
We are looking an Analytical Chemist which has:
At least Higher Vocational (HBO) degree in analytical chemistry.
Hands-on experience with a broad range of characterization/analytical techniques.
Solid GC-MS experience is a must:
Deep equipment knowledge and method development.
Good communication and reporting skills in the English language.
Good planning skills and ability to work independently.
Team player attitude.
