Your Challenge

As a Technical Writer, you will create technical documentation for the Customer Services organization of the Business Group Image Guided Therapy (IGT). This includes repair, maintenance, upgrade, and installation information primarily used by Service Engineers to install, troubleshoot, and repair complex imaging systems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Information Gathering:

    • Interview engineers, observe equipment operation, and review technical documents to collect system release information or changes.

    • Align documentation requests and requirements with information providers, stakeholders, and fellow Technical Writers.

  • Documentation Development:

    • Create, develop, plan, write, design, and edit service information.

    • Write and maintain system-specific installation documents for X-ray systems.

    • Collaborate with illustrators to incorporate technical illustrations.

  • Tools and Processes:

    • Use various text editors (MS-Word, X-Metal) and Content Management Systems (ST4, PTC-Windchill).

    • Write reusable content using controlled language.

    • Monitor progress, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines.



Your Team

You will join the Interventional Tools & Solutions (ITS) group within the Customer Service – Service Innovation department, based in Best, The Netherlands. The ITS team consists of Project Managers, Service Innovation Engineers, and Technical Writers who collaborate closely to deliver high-quality service information for every lifecycle phase of a medical system. We Are Looking For

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

    • Preferably 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer.

    • A linguistic/communication background and experience with medical or high-tech equipment are advantageous.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in structured authoring tools (XML editors), topic-based writing, single-source publishing, and Content Management Systems.

    • Knowledge of controlled language or documentation standards is a plus.

    • Affinity with data engineering, modern tools (e.g., AI), and Lean methodology is desirable.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication skills.

    • Project management expertise.

    • Open-minded, flexible, and able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

    • Customer-oriented and a team player, but capable of working independently.

    • Ownership and accountability in your work.
