Software Designer

Location: Philips Campus in Best

Duration Assignment: 12 months (Possibility of extension/conversion)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40 (5 days at onsite)

As a Software Designer, you will help build the future of minimally invasive heart surgery. You will work at the intersection of X-ray and Ultrasound integration, creating software that allows surgeons to perform life-saving procedures (like valve replacements) with extreme precision.

You won’t just be writing code; you’ll be collaborating with clinical scientists and interaction designers to turn complex medical challenges into elegant software solutions.

Your Team:

You will join the Image Guided Therapy Systems unit, specifically a venture group focused on the cutting-edge integration of X-ray and Ultrasound. You will work in an agile, cross-functional team that bridges the gap between different business groups, ensuring our customers—interventional cardiologists and radiologists—have the best tools available in hospitals worldwide.

Your responsibilities:

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the full software life-cycle, from ideation to deployment:

  • Design, code, and test modular components of our medical software applications.

  • Build robust automated software tests and system-level regression tests to ensure patient safety and system reliability.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to integrate sophisticated libraries and X-ray/Ultrasound data streams.

  • Partner with clinical scientists and UX designers to translate medical needs into technical requirements.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • BSc or MSc in Software Engineering or a related technical field with 2+ years of strong professional experience in application development using C# & WPF.

  • Understanding of C++ and technical application development (embedded or application layers).

  • Experience or affinity with 3D rendering (OpenGL) is plus.

  • Previous experience in the medical imaging or Healthcare sector is plus.

If it sounds interesting, please apply before Jan 28, 2026. Feel free to write to us in case of questions/more information on Pallavi.mahadik_1@philips.com
