Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Contract)
Location: Drachten
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension and/or Philips transfer)
Hours/week: 40
Budget range: €3.500 - 4.800 per month
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Analyses, designs, tests, codes, secures, debugs, modifies, deploys, integrates and maintains (system) software enhancements, test environment and/or new software. Uses state-of-the-art technologies and practices. Interacts with users / product owners to define / adjust requirements and/or necessary modifications. Keeps abreast of technical developments and practices in own field through literature, courses/training, technical contacts, and competitive environment. You will be responsible for:
Developing embedded software in C programming language for microcontrollers. Documenting, managing, and helping to define requirements, design documents, design reviews, and verification procedures.
Writing concise, readable, and easily maintainable code adhering to coding guidelines. Developing or modifying unit test software to verify embedded software.knowledge and the needs for new developments in the discipline and initiates and leads competence development projects.
Coaches junior/medior development engineers
Pro-actively communicates with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, professional network and colleagues.
Complies with the ESH policy, rules and regulations.
Develops (parts and elements of) products, systems and/or solutions according to the V-model that serve user and business requirements amongst others by applying internal and external research results and technology advancements while taking care of the total system as well as inner workings of a design.:
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
You will need a customer-first attitude and the following
BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
5 years of experience in embedded software development in a professional organisation.
Experience in designing products for mass manufacturing is a big plus
Be able to interpret hardware schematics to configure software for microcontrollers.
Experience with tools such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and debuggers.
Experience with FreeRTOS and BLE is preferred.
Knowledge of IEC 62304 is preferred.
Technical leadership skills, detail-oriented and continuous improvement mindset.
Fluency in English.
