Quality project lead (Freelance)
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Ensures that appropriate quality plans are made that include all stages of the life cycle of the product and supports Quality Plan design
- Validates key design inputs like: usability, reliability, performance, supportability, manufacturability, localizability, safety, security, privacy, serviceability, sustainability and costs
- Provides effective oversight of the execution of the Quality Plan, any Risk Management activities, and of all design related activities during the product/system lifecycle
- Performs independent technical assessment on product quality performance and post-market product quality analysis
- Can Lead quality related problem solving and root cause analysis during design and manufacturing
- Uses post-market analytics and statistics to report on product quality performance in the field (provide feedback to manufacturing, suppliers or design teams) and initiates field actions when required
- Act as a single point of contact (person assigned to project team) responsible to ensure that hardware design meets quality and compliance standards for every milestone
- Linking pin between DI/Project team & Consumer Care, External Parties/suppliers, Safety/Compliance/Health, and Legal
- Manage the product release process
- Reporting on internal Software metrics (status code, bugs, crashes etc.) and external metrics (consumers ratings in de App & Play stores)
Tasks
- Monitor the (new) Product development Quality through project reviews, metrics and performance indicators
- Creation of the Overall Project Quality plan
- Providing input for the software project quality plan e.g. FCR (field call data), SQM plan and CTQ parameters.
- Providing inputs and reviewing the software development plans
- Following up on software project data (metrics etc.), to ensure regular quality
- Regular progress reporting to entire project team (including an overview of product-level testing status, planned vs. actual quality parameters, critical quality issues)
- Tracking the creation and deployment of overall and product level review plans
- Reporting on verification status and quality parameters (incl. software product level ones) at external and internal SW milestones (as relevant).
- Performing lessons learned, and giving feedback of the same to software
Competencies
- a Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering (preferably Electronics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering)
- Knowledge of Agile Scrum, SW Engineering/Programming,
- Strong communication and influencing skills; real team player
- Quality mindset and experience with Q tools like statistical engineering, Design for Six Sigma and/or Reliability Engineering;
- Proactive and supportive attitude towards the product development team, being a role model for the Quality function in the project team;
- Understanding of how product development projects are managed and how Quality plays a role in this;
- Personal competences: Proactive/ initiative, IT & Quality minded, love working with new technologies
