Procurement Engineer is based in a Development Center. You represent procurement in product creation projects. You organize early supplier involvement with a Design for eXcellence (DfX) mindset and you make use of approaches like design-in or cost-reduction workshops. Next to this, you prepare Request for Quotations and project books to documents specs and agreements with suppliers. You ensure procurement related risks (cost, quality and availability) are controlled and mitigated, by bringing the relevant procurement colleagues to the equation.
Another important responsibility is driving cost downs activities. You identify strategic cost reduction opportunities for products in the portfolio and for products in development.
In New Product Development you will be responsible for the timely completion of the various Procurement deliverables, this includes a.o. the driving of saving opportunities in close cooperation with Marketing, Development, Quality and Supply Chain Management. In this way you deliver a significant contribution to business cases and product roadmaps. To enable this, you understand cost drivers and the power of standardization.
As you are dealing with products that may have a medical certification and will be developed in a Medically certified development site it is important that you are familiair with the applicable processes and procedures which will be audited throughout the year
Last but not least, you lead or participate in cross functional DfX conventions. In these conventions analysis, proposals and decisions are made on value and cost of our product propositions;
must have items:
- affinity with Innovation environment or Product Development (pref Medical Class products)
nice to have items:
- FDA or similar Audit exposure / DFX experience / Past Philips experience (pref Medical)
