About the Role:
Philips is seeking a highly skilled Senior PCBA Technology Expert to join our Electronics Design Services (EDS) group. This role demands a deep understanding of PCBA technology, including advanced assembly techniques, multi-layer PCB design, and the latest in soldering methodologies, including robotics. You will be a pivotal player in driving innovation, ensuring that our designs meet the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Advisory Role: Provide expert advice across all phases of PCBA development, including architecture, electronic design, manufacturing, and assembly. Your guidance will ensure alignment between design decisions and manufacturability, reliability, and sustainability goals.
Design Support: Offer specialized support for Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Manufacturability (DfM), and Design for Test (DfT), ensuring optimal outcomes throughout the product lifecycle.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage and align with PCB suppliers, Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), and internal teams to ensure that technical capabilities meet project requirements. Collaborate with sustainability engineers to integrate environmental considerations into PCBA design rules.
PCBA Design Rule Maintenance: Develop, maintain, and refine internal PCBA design rules, ensuring they are up-to-date with industry standards and best practices. Support the development of the PCBA platform toolkit, including the introduction of new capabilities and leading seminars.
Problem-Solving Leadership: Lead problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D and Greenbelt. Address faults with clear root cause analysis and implement actionable solutions, even under pressure.
Knowledge Sharing and Coaching: Present and report results clearly, providing concise recommendations. Extend your knowledge network within and outside Philips, and coach colleagues, contributing to their development and the team’s overall expertise.
Leadership and Network Development: As a recognized and trusted advisor, you will maintain and extend your customer and knowledge networks, fostering strong relationships that drive innovation and project success.
Qualifications:
Extensive Experience: Deep expertise in PCBA technology, including PCB materials, flexes, surface finishes, soldering methods, and testing techniques.
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Sustainability Focus: Experience with sustainability and environmental aspects of PCB/PCBA manufacturing, including compliance with ISO 14001 standards, is highly desirable.
Advanced Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with Philips tools or equivalent industry-standard tools for PCBA design and manufacturing processes.
Consultancy and Advisory Skills: Strong consultancy skills with a proven ability to provide strategic advice across multiple stakeholders in design and manufacturing environments.
Project Leadership: Experience in leading projects and teams, with a focus on competence development and coaching.
