Freelance Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Project Overview
We are seeking an external Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive the technical implementation of IFRS 18 and provide high-level expertise to our Treasury Accounting & Control workstream. This is a result-driven assignment focused on the delivery of specific financial reporting milestones and internal control optimizations.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
As an independent consultant, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
IFRS 18 Implementation: Lead the technical design, impact assessment, and final delivery of IFRS 18 (Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements) within the Treasury domain.
Audit Readiness: Prepare the technical documentation, evidence files, and process mapping required for the scheduled Internal Audit on hedging processes.
Policy Optimization: Review, update, and deliver the finalized Treasury Financial Risk Policy to ensure alignment with current market standards.
Control Framework Advisory: Evaluate the current SOX/internal control framework and deliver recommendations for a well-designed, operational control environment.
Expert Advisory: Provide ad-hoc technical accounting advice (IFRS) and "End2End" process mapping for Treasury flows.
Technical Coordination: Act as a technical lead for the project team to ensure the quality of Treasury accounting output, financial reporting, and forecasting during the project term.
Required Expertise
Academic Background: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
IFRS Expert: Minimum 5-8 years of demonstrable experience in complex IFRS accounting, specifically within Treasury environments.
Independent Operation: Proven ability to manage deliverables independently and deliver high-quality output under strict reporting deadlines.
Communication: Ability to provide expert-level advice to stakeholders and various management layers regarding technical accounting risks.
