EMC Test Engineer (Contract)


Location: Best, Eindhoven

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension and/or Philips transfer in time)

Contract: Permanent at a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

Budget range: €3.600 - 5.500 per month

Execute objective and reproducible EMC tests of the Quality Laboratory (QLAB). You will interpret and report test results and report to the Manager Quality Laboratory.

You will be responsible for:

Quality Responsibilities:

  • Continuously enhance the Management System of QLAB by offering insightful recommendations.

  • Provide constructive feedback based on firsthand experiences, collaborating on corrective and preventive actions.

  • Propose necessary changes to all instructions and templates relevant to testing activities.


Technical Responsibilities (Safety Compliance Testing):

  • Interpret test designs and independently plan and conduct tests.

  • Develop and construct test setups that comply with international EMC standards.

  • Validate test setups by performing and interpreting performance verification measurements daily.

  • Document observations clearly and in sufficient detail for use in pass/fail decisions.

  • Interpret EMC phenomena accurately.

  • Analyze and interpret test results, balancing observations against test specifications and international standards.

  • Determine compliance by assessing pass/fail outcomes against performance criteria.

  • Prepare and compile test reports in accordance with internal requirements and international standards.

  • Operate test and measuring equipment, diagnosing any potential failures.

  • Set up, test, maintain, and troubleshoot test and measurement equipment, including software, for testing assemblies, final systems, and related items.

  • Remain vigilant for nonconforming work and report it as necessary.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s (BSc) or Master’s (MSc) degree in electronic engineering;

  • At least 5 years of practical experience in the field of EMC Testing;

  • Knowledge and experience of quality management systems and regulatory affairs;

  • Quality-conscious, disciplined, accurate, honest and representative;

  • Good organisational skills and able to take responsibility;

  • Good team leadership skills;

  • Good in verbal and written communication skills in English, Dutch is a plus


You are a part of

A small, but dedicated team of Test Engineers. The QLAB plays a vital role in ensuring the patients’ safety by demonstrating compliance with the relevant safety standards. The QLAB is an independent laboratory and operates within its own Quality Management System.
