Software Engineer (Contract)

Location: Philips Drachten

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

Budget range: €3,892 - €5,372

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make life better!As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and documenting high-quality embedded software solutions. You will contribute to the creation of innovative products, ensuring compliance with modern software engineering standards.

You will be responsible for:

• Writing source code in C++ according to applicable coding standards.

• Estimating development effort and run-time resource requirements.

• Participating in reviews and walkthroughs.

• Writing and executing unit/component test cases.

• Contributing to process improvements for product development.

• Writing proper design documentation for embedded software products.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering.

• Multiple years of experience developing low-level embedded software in C/C++ for high-volume consumer products.

• Thorough understanding of modern software engineering principles, tools (Git/GitHub), methods, and processes (Agile/SAFe).

• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and excellent communication skills, including working with international teams.

• A proactive attitude and a high-quality mindset toward assignments.

• Technical expertise in your domain, with the ability to develop and defend your ideas.

• Willingness to collaborate closely with Asian and/or East European suppliers.
