Play a crucial role in the enhancement and safety of healthcare solutions, ensuring excellent user experiences, and supporting physicians in delivering optimal care, all while contributing to innovative advancements in medical imaging and technology. 


You are responsible for 

  • Delivering the Usability requirements & Usability evidence throughout the product design and development process, ensuring the product release meets regulatory, customer- & business needs.  

  • Perform workflow analysis and user research to understand the context of use and elicit user needs and usability requirements. 

  • Analyze post-market data and identify usability issues. 

  • Lead Usability FMEA. 

  • Define usability engineering plans, and organize usability activities in co-operation with business partners (e.g. project managers, clinical marketing). 

  • Plan and execute usability evaluations and ensure critical findings are addressed in the design to ensure high level of UX, quality and safety. 

  • Advise on the usability aspects of design changes with the design team 

  • Ensure that usability engineering is applied according to international standards (such as IEC 62366, FDA Guidance on Human factors, NMPA guidelines) 

  • Support the development of user-centered and safe-to-use UI and UX solutions. 

  • Ensure a good co-operation with other subject areas within the organization.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following proven experience and knowledge

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience of usability engineering for medical devices preferred, from early phases of gathering user needs to late phases of usability validation and post market follow-up. Including: conducting task analysis, providing inputs to UI/UX designers, risk managers and engineers, performing and reporting usability evaluations. 

  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulation requirements for usability of medical devices: NMPA, FDA guidance and IEC62366-1. 

  • Good understanding of quality systems (QMS) and risk management principles. 

  • Good knowledge and understanding of cognitive ergonomics principles. 

  • Good understanding of the healthcare domain and clinical workflow e.g. in hospitals. 

  • Preferred: experience in working effectively in multidisciplinary teams and in a complex global company. 

  • Preferred: Good knowledge and understanding of physical ergonomics principles. 

  • Expertise in Human factors and interaction design, possess proficiency in Usability methodologies, processes, and standards. 

  • You exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills and showcase strong project management abilities. 

  • Master’s in the area of human factors engineering, HCI, cognitive science, product/interaction design or other relevant academic background.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means a hybrid work model requiring in-person collaboration at the office at least 2-3 days per week.


Contract

Initially, you will be contracted by the Randstad and work on assignment with Philips.
