Test Engineer - Automation
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases across desktop, web, mobile, and cloud platforms.
Perform UI and API testing to validate application functionality, integration, and user experience.
Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, and BDD/Cucumber.
Create and maintain Cucumber feature files and step definitions.
Perform API testing using tools such as REST Assured and Postman.
Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent application behavior.
Identify, document, prioritize, and triage defects in collaboration with development and product teams.
Establish and maintain requirements traceability and test coverage.
Prepare and manage test data required for functional and automated testing.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
Participate in test planning, execution, defect reviews, and continuous improvement activities.
Ensure testing activities align with the defined SDLC and software testing lifecycle.
6–8 years of experience in software testing, covering both manual and automation testing.
Strong hands-on experience with Java.
Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver and Selenium Grid.
Strong experience with BDD/Cucumber, including feature files and step definitions.
Hands-on experience in API testing using REST Assured and Postman.
Experience with UI testing across multiple browsers and devices.
Strong knowledge of SQL, preferably with Oracle and SQL Server.
Experience with test management and collaboration tools such as Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
Experience with Git/GitHub and version control practices.
Hands-on experience with TestNG and/or JUnit.
Good understanding of SDLC, software testing lifecycle, test planning, and defect management.
Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset.
Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional and geographically distributed team.
Comfortable collaborating across different time zones.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and tools.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Willingness to travel when required.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure Pipelines.
Performance testing experience using JMeter or similar tools.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
ISTQB certification.
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
