SYSTEM SECURITY ENGINEER

Your role
As system security Engineer you ensure that Philips Digital Slide scanner follows industry standard security best practices. In this role you work with the scanner development team and other security & privacy related functions like the Security Architect and Security Officer.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
The System Security Engineer performs OS and component hardening to ensure that the system configuration follows strict security guidelines.

Your responsibilities
The tasks of the System Security Engineer are as follows:
   Performs hardening on Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other platform components like Database, Nginx and Tomcat
   Ensures system level compliancy to industry standards
   Troubleshooting integration problems related to security
   Teams up with Product Owners and architects on security architecture and implementation
   Ensures the backlog of security epics/stories is accurate and complete
   Performs vulnerability assessments and technical product security audits


Educational and experience requirements
   You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Sciences or similar technical background
   Between 3 and 5 years of experience in system security
   Deep understanding of RHEL/CentOS/Fedora security configuration
   Good understanding of network configuration on RHEL/CentOS/Fedora (routing, firewall, IP-configuration)
   Experienced in setting up, owning and maintaining system security policies, scripts and security features
   Good understanding of PKI (Server and client certificate configuration, cipher configuration)
   Experienced with System architecture and component integration
   Experienced in implementing secure systems under cybersecurity frameworks is a plus
   Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
   Strong written and verbal communication in English language
