Role: Software Test Engineer

Contract: via Randstad (high possibility to transition to Philips after year)

Role overview:

Join the AzurionEye team to build and scale a high-performance test automation landscape for our AI-enabled clinical software platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between manual precision and high-level engineering, safeguarding the quality and safety of cloud-native solutions used in life-critical, minimally invasive procedures. You will drive and implement end‑to‑end test automation aligned with CI/CD and test‑first principles, ensuring traceability and regulatory readiness across releases.

Your Role:

  • Lead both automated and manual testing within Agile teams, ensuring every increment meets rigorous clinical and regulatory standards.

  • Define the test design and end-to-end strategy. Build, maintain, and scale automation frameworks from scratch for microservices and REST-based architectures.

  • Actively review and edit application code to ensure testability. Participate in "3-Amigos" refinements to sharpen acceptance criteria and architectural integrity.

  • Drive CI/CD integration and test-first principles, maintaining a robust suite covering functional, performance, load, and resilience testing.

  • Ensure full traceability from requirements to reports, producing validation evidence suitable for regulated design control documentation.

  • Partner with developers to grow advanced automation capabilities and drive a culture of high-test craftsmanship.

Qualification and skills required:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering field with 5+ years in software testing with a proven track record of building automation frameworks from scratch.

  • Proficiency in reviewing and editing code; experience with object-oriented languages (e.g., C# or C++) is highly valued.

  • Expertise in Selenium, Playwright, or similar tools, alongside BDD frameworks (Cucumber/SpecFlow) using Gherkin.

  • Experience with microservices, cloud-native apps, and modern pipelines (Git/Azure DevOps).

  • ISTQB Foundation (CTFL) required; Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer (CTAL-TAE) preferred.

  • Comfort in a fast-paced, "start-up" style environment where you take full ownership of the quality vision.
