SOFTWARE SECURITY ENGINEER

Your role
Philips is developing digital pathology slide scanners. As SW security Engineer you ensure that the scanner follows industry standard security best practices. In this role you work with the scanner development team and other security & privacy related functions like the Software Security Architect and Security Officer.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
The Software Security Engineer develops, maintains and assesses security features in the scanner and takes responsibility in addressing security during the product development cycle.


Your responsibilities
The tasks of the Software Security Engineer are as follows:
   Designs and develops software security functionality
   Performs hardening on Application level, OS, SQL and Webserver
   Initiates and leads code security reviews
   Performs penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and technical product security audits
   Troubleshooting integration problems related to security
   Teams up with Product Owners and product architects on security architecture and implementation
   Ensures the backlog of security epics/stories is accurate and complete

Educational and experience requirements
   You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering or similar technical background
   Between 3 and 5 years of experience in security development
   Experienced software developer in JAVA. Knowledge of Spring security is a plus
   Deep understanding of software security coding in Java and optional C++
   Deep understanding of Linux (preferable Redhat) security configuration
   Experience with System architecture and component integration
   Good understanding of web technology stack
   Experience with software security hardening and penetration test tools is a plus
   Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
   Experience in implementing secure software under cybersecurity frameworks is a plus
   Strong written and verbal communication in English language
