Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior BI Developer with strong expertise in AWS QuickSight and/or Qlik Sense to design, develop, and optimize scalable Business Intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data visualization, dashboard development, data modeling, reporting automation, and analytics solution delivery across enterprise environments.

The role requires strong technical ownership, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to drive high-quality BI solutions aligned with business objectives. The candidate should be capable of working independently, mentoring team members, and contributing to best practices across development, testing, deployment, and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end BI solution development processes with greater autonomy, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and QA teams.

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visual analytics solutions using AWS QuickSight and/or Qlik Sense.

• Serve as a recognized technical expert in BI development within the team, leading solution design discussions and providing guidance on visualization best practices, performance optimization, and reporting standards.

• Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions by designing robust data models, datasets, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.

• Handle moderately complex to advanced BI development tasks while collaborating with senior architects and leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality analytics solutions.

• Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies including unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, and validation of dashboards/reports for data accuracy, reliability, and performance.

• Conduct detailed peer reviews of dashboards, scripts, data models, and reporting logic to ensure coding standards, governance compliance, and BI best practices are followed.

• Support DevOps and release management activities including deployment of dashboards, data pipelines, version control, environment migration, and monitoring of BI platform performance metrics.

• Diagnose and resolve reporting defects, data inconsistencies, performance bottlenecks, and dashboard failures by analyzing logs, validating datasets, and implementing sustainable fixes.

• Create and maintain technical documentation including data flow diagrams, dashboard specifications, semantic layer definitions, metadata documentation, and user guides.

• Stay updated with emerging BI technologies, cloud analytics trends, AWS services, and reporting best practices to continuously improve platform capabilities and development standards.

• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve medium to high complexity reporting requests while exercising sound judgment within established governance frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Reporting development

• Strong hands-on expertise in AWS QuickSight and/or Qlik Sense

• Experience in dashboard development, visual storytelling, KPI reporting, and executive reporting

• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts including star schema, dimensional modeling, and semantic layers

• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and performance optimization

• Experience working with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, RDS, and cloud-based data platforms

• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and integration with BI platforms

• Experience in report optimization, performance tuning, and governance implementation

• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release management for BI solutions

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities

• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to mentor junior developers and drive technical excellence within the team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments

• Exposure to Python, Shell scripting, or automation for reporting workflows

• Knowledge of data governance, security, and access control frameworks

• AWS Certifications or relevant BI platform certifications preferred

• Experience in enterprise-scale analytics transformation initiatives
