Job Title: PCBA CAD Library Engineer

Your ChallengeAre you excited about playing an instrumental role in further shaping the PCBA Library Creation team within Philips and strengthening its value proposition globally?

In this role, you will support Philips businesses worldwide as a PCBA CAD-E Library Creation and Maintenance Engineer, including the registration of standard components in the Windchill PLM system.

Team Responsibilities

The PCBA Library Creation team supports Philips businesses by delivering high-quality CAD-E components through:

  • Creation, update, maintenance, and verification of PCBA library data in Philips databases

  • Supporting the growing demand for PCBA CAD-E library requests and enabling component releases within Philips

  • Providing technical support for 3D model creation and integration into the PCBA library

  • Continuously improving library creation processes and ways of working

  • Supporting global Philips teams involved in PCBA development

  • During peak workloads, assisting with registration of standard components in the Windchill PLM system

Key Responsibilities

As a PCBA Library Engineer, you will:

  • Process PCBA part requests according to Philips workflows

  • Create schematic symbols, footprints (cells), 3D models, and part mappings in line with Philips standards using approved tools (Mentor Graphics Xpedition)

  • Review part requests for completeness and communicate with requesters if additional information is required

  • Upload created components into DMS, perform verification, and release them into the library

  • Understand and follow PCBA CAD-E library creation processes

  • Verify the deliverables associated with part requests

  • During peak workloads, support standard part registration in PTC Windchill

Your Team

Philips Innovation and Design is a corporate group within Philips HealthTech, consisting of approximately 1,000 professionals specializing in consulting, engineering, and innovation services.

You will be part of the Electronic Design Services (EDS) group within the Quality and Reliability Engineering department. This team consists of around 50 highly skilled professionals specializing in electronic design and operates across The Netherlands, India, and the United States.

This role will be based in Bangalore.

The EDS group plays a key role in establishing and leading Philips’ global Electronic Design Platform, covering:

  • Schematics and PCBA design technologies

  • Global electronic component management services

  • PCBA design and fast prototyping services

The team supports internal Philips businesses across the globe.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics

  • Strong knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical components

  • Proven competence in PCBA CAD-E Library Creation

  • Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, IPC, and JEDEC standards for schematic symbols and PCBA footprints

  • Hands-on experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition, including:

    • Library Manager

    • DxDesigner

    • DMS

    • 3D Model Interface

    • Cell Editor

  • 3–4 years of experience in electronic and electro-mechanical component creation and maintenance

  • Experience in 3D model creation; knowledge of Creo is an added advantage

  • Experience with component management processes and part data registration in PTC Windchill

  • Proactive mindset with a strong team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to work in a structured and quality-focused manner

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple technical disciplines

Business Need

Support the PCBA Platform Program by providing engineering capacity for component CAD Library operations (CAD-E and CAD-M).
