Mechanical Engineer (Contract)

Duration Assignment: 12 months (with possible extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours/week: 40

Salary range: €4.500 - €6.000,-

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make life better! In this role, you challenge the development of new product designs for Philips Image Guided Therapy. You will focus specifically on the ceiling suspension of video monitors used in hospital examination rooms, ensuring these critical systems are safe, reliable, and high-performing in a highly regulated medical environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing modifications to existing solutions for monitor ceiling suspension.

  • Creating specifications for mechanical and electrical tests and linking CTQ/CTS requirements to test strategies.

  • Leading testing activities, including lifetime, environmental, packaging, and safety testing.

  • Creating and participating in design reviews and risk assessments (e.g., FMEA).

  • Cross-functional alignment with electrical, mechatronics, norm compliance, quality, and supply chain teams.

  • Supplier management, including addressing and following up on technical issues.

  • Executing and documenting formal verification tests in line with established Quality Management System (QMS) processes.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant R&D working experience.

  • Experience in product design, development, and maintenance of released products.

  • Excellent design documentation skills and a quality-driven mindset.

  • Result-oriented and self-steering with a strong problem-solving attitude.

  • Ability to work independently and act proactively.

  • Good command of English (both written and verbal).

  • Preferred: Proficiency in CREO.

  • Preferred: Work experience in Agile Release Trains (SAFe framework) and Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) qualification.
