As a Mechanical Development Engineer, you will apply your mechanical engineering expertise to design, develop, integrate, and test innovative mechatronic systems within the Product & System Engineering department.
This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in mechatronics and product development. You will work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating closely with technical experts to transform innovative concepts into manufacturable, production-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed mechanical designs based on concepts and system architectures provided by the Technical Lead.
Design and engineer mechanical subsystems for complex, multidisciplinary product development projects.
Translate conceptual designs into production-ready solutions suitable for scale-up and volume manufacturing.
Create and maintain technical product documentation, including:Assembly instructions,Bills of Materials (BOM), Service manuals
Collaborate closely with Mechanical Leads, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams including software, electronics, dynamics, thermal engineering, and systems engineering.
Participate in internal and external mechanical design teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Support prototype development, integration, testing, and validation activities.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and engineering partners.

You'll join the Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems group within Philips Innovation Engineering, where multidisciplinary teams develop innovative healthcare products and manufacturing solutions. From concept and design to prototyping and industrialization, we work closely with Philips businesses to bring new technologies to market faster.
What We're Looking for to perform this role:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably in the medical device or other regulated industry.
Strong experience in translating concepts into detailed mechanical designs for manufacturing.
Proficiency in Creo Parametric (3D CAD) and Microsoft Office. Experience with the Creo Cabling Module will be highly valuable.
Solid understanding of mechanical design, mechatronics, dynamics, thermal behavior, materials, and metrology.
Experience creating technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and engineering drawings.
Nice to Have
Experience with Windchill PDM and cPLM.
Experience with medical imaging or other regulated healthcare products.
