Job characteristics
Based on the needs of the business, the M-IT specialist translates the manufacturing needs into functional IT specifications, procedures and data flow. The purpose of the job is to design, define, test, implement and maintain systems and applications, in order to provide optimum support for the business process.

Key area of accountability
•   Functional design and architecture
Determine what functionality is required in terms of architecture, structure and configuration, in order to translate the manufacturing requirements into an optimum M-IT solution which can be integrated with the existing M-IT system.
•   Development
Program, document and maintain the M-IT product, based on current design methods and techniques, in order to ensure that the product runs according to the specification
•   Testing
Test, analyze test results and repair new M-IT products in a development, test and production environment, in order to develop a M-IT product that can be implemented
•   Planning
Prioritize solution implementations steps according to the most crucial business process improvements, in order to structure the development and improvement process
•   Implementation
Manage projects in order to ensure that the project is from business perspective effectively implemented within the project budget
•   Cost effectiveness
Balance business benefits versus cost of design, building and implementation, in order to realize cost effective M-IT solutions
•   Training
Instruct M-IT users in using the M-IT product, to ensure that the product is handled in the correct way
•   Support
Provide system maintenance and corrective actions in order to ensure a reliable M-IT system.
Assist and advice user with respect to M-IT issues

Placement in the organization
Team member, reporting to the M-IT manager and providing guidance to more junior staff and temporarily employees.
Dimensions relating to Know-How
In-depth knowledge of the M-IT software
In-depth knowledge of the Drachten shaver manufacturing technologies like ECP’en Cold forming, cutter production, moulding and decoration and (electronic) assembly.
In-depth knowledge of production processes like: statistical process control, quality systems, logistical control and equipment control.
Experience in implementations of IT solutions
A drive to learn and apply new and emerging IT concepts and SW development methodology efficiently
Dimensions relating to problem solving
Select optimum methods, use new methods, design new interfaces
Independently performs analyses to resolve complex issues
Designs new innovative M-IT solutions to optimize the manufacturing process
