Logistics Engineer (Contract)

Location: Drachten

Assignment Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Contract: via a Randstad company

Hours per week: 40

Salary range: €3,836 - €5,115 per month

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Make a significant impact on the logistics processes within the Mother & Childcare factory at Philips Drachten. As a Logistics Engineer, you will be responsible for continuously improving all logistics connections within the factory, directly contributing to the optimization of production and logistics processes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Support the Mother & Childcare (Production) department.

  • Plan a portion of the production for this department using SAP.

  • Lead small improvement projects, typically using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) methodology.

  • Participate in larger projects as a supply chain partner and take on sub-projects.

  • Serve as a knowledge expert on logistics systems, providing support to various production departments within the factory.

  • Solve logistics issues and manage a small portion of master data and existing logistics connections.


To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following:

  • A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or logistics.

  • 1-2 years of work experience in a production environment.

  • Proficiency in both Dutch and English.

  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Proactive and helpful.

  • Process-focused thinking.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and social skills.


You are a part of:

You will be part of a team of 7 logistics engineers and 3 planners within the Supply Chain Management department. This department also includes procurement, supply planning, and supply chain project managers. Starting September 1, 2024, you will join the Value Stream Organization Mother & Childcare, reporting to the Value Stream Leader. Along with 2 other logistics engineers and 1 production planner, you will be responsible for all supply chain-related matters within the factory.
